NAOSS Leadership Visits Bank of Agriculture and National Youth Development Centre for Student Empowerment
In a significant move towards empowering Osun Students, the leadership of the National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS), led by President Mustafa Adedibu, visited the Ode Omu branch of the Bank of Agriculture on Tuesday. The visit aimed to explore potential collaborations focused on enhancing agricultural and entrepreneurial skills among students.
Upon their arrival, the NAOSS leaders were warmly welcomed by Mr. Bunmi Oyenike, the head of the Ode Omu branch. Mr. Oyenike commended the initiative of the association and expressed the branch's commitment to supporting students engaged in various agricultural activities, including farming, animal rearing, and marketing of farm produce.
Following the productive meeting at the Bank of Agriculture, the NAOSS leadership proceeded to the National Youth Development Centre in Ode Omu for an unofficial visit. They were graciously received by Dr. Nurain Olasunkanmi, the Principal of the Centre. Dr. Olasunkanmi elaborated on the Centre's mission and its readiness to collaborate with NAOSS on skill acquisition and vocational empowerment programs.
He emphasized the importance of scheduling an official meeting to discuss potential partnerships in greater depth, suggesting that the NAOSS leadership plan a visit to tour the Center's facilities, as they were currently occupied with other commitments.
The NAOSS delegation included key members such as the Vice President II, Vice President III, Assistant General Secretary, Director of Sports, and Director of Welfare, all of whom expressed their dedication to launching expansive skill acquisition programs. These programs are targeted at agricultural, digital, and vocational skills, alongside financial empowerment initiatives aimed at allowing students to establish their own ventures.
The collaboration between NAOSS and these institutions marks a promising step towards equipping students with essential skills, ultimately fostering a brighter future for young individuals in Osun State.
