The Kujenlayo Youth Descendant Union (KYDU) has successfully concluded its 2026 JAMB coaching and scholarship programme with a grand prize presentation ceremony held in Ikire. The event, described as historic, brought together students, parents, community stakeholders, and well-wishers to celebrate academic excellence and reward top-performing participants in the recently conducted mock examination.

The ceremony marked the climax of weeks of intensive coaching organised by the union to prepare candidates for the forthcoming Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). As part of the programme, outstanding students who distinguished themselves during the mock exam were presented with prizes in recognition of their hard work, brilliance, and commitment to academic success.

Speaking at the event, Barrister Akinsumbo Oluyeye, who represented the programme’s sponsor and the chief host, lauded the philanthropic gesture of Chief Ademola Abdul-Wasiu Abdulsalam Ajanaku (Omogbede of Ikire). He emphasised that the sponsor’s unwavering commitment to education reflects a deep passion for youth development and community progress. According to him, the initiative is not driven by personal gain but by a genuine desire to secure a better future for the younger generation.

He further charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the opportunity provided, urging them to remain focused and determined in their academic pursuits. He also encouraged the students to see themselves as future leaders who must be ready to give back to society.

In a motivational session, Seyi Catalyst inspired the students to aim high and shatter self-imposed limitations. He urged them not to underestimate their capabilities, stressing that excellence is attainable with proper preparation, confidence, and dedication. “Do not see high scores as unattainable. Prepare diligently, be bold, and success will be yours,” he advised.

Reaffirming its commitment, KYDU noted that its mission to promote education and community development remains unwavering. The union stressed that the JAMB coaching and scholarship initiative is just one of many interventions aimed at empowering youths and fostering sustainable growth within the community.

The event not only celebrated academic achievement but also reinforced the importance of collective responsibility in nurturing the next generation of leaders.
