In a surprising yet strategic political development, Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has declared the unanimous support of the Osun State chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
Speaking during a stakeholders' forum in Osogbo, Governor Adeleke emphasised that the decision was borne out of a patriotic commitment to national unity, development, and the recognition of President Tinubu as a true son of the South-West and Nigeria at large.
"Osun is ready to stand with her son of the soil. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not only a national leader but also a pride of the Yoruba land. Come 2027, Osun PDP will not be left behind in ensuring continuity and stability," Governor Adeleke stated.
The announcement marks a significant realignment in the political landscape of Osun State, as Governor Adeleke—long viewed as a PDP stronghold leader—pledges support across party lines in favour of a broader regional and national agenda.
Analysts believe this declaration could open the door to further cross-party collaborations and may signal a new era of bipartisan politics in the South-West geopolitical zone.
Governor Adeleke further called on political leaders across the region to put aside party rivalry and prioritise unity, development, and progress, stressing that “this is a time to consolidate, not divide.”
The move has since sparked discussions across political circles nationwide, as attention turns to how this bold declaration will shape the 2027 electoral landscape.
