In a major political realignment, thousands of youths formerly affiliated with the Omisore Youth Support Forum (OYSF) have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, pledging support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid in 2026.
The decamping ceremony, held at the PDP secretariat, was presided over by the party’s state chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, who welcomed the new members, describing their move as a significant boost for the ruling party.
The youth group, previously known as OYSF, was officially rebranded as the Adeleke Youth Support Forum (AYSF) to align with its new mission ensuring continuity in governance by securing victory for Governor Adeleke in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Bisi commended the youths for their decision, stating, “Your defection is a clear testament to the good work of Governor Ademola Adeleke in transforming Osun State. With your energy and numbers, we are confident of a landslide victory in 2026.
Political analysts suggest that the mass defection could further strengthen the PDP’s dominance in the state while weakening opposition parties ahead of the 2026 elections.
The event was attended by top PDP chieftains, youth leaders, and supporters who expressed optimism about the party’s prospects in the next election cycle.
